Elvis Is Alive and Well In Vegas

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the subject of Elvis. For years the tabloids have been full of stories of Elvis sightings.

And then it happened. I had walked only a short distance along the sidewalk and there stood Elvis. Okay, so the sidewalk was in Las Vegas, but where else might you run into Elvis. He was just as I had imagined him, a real regular guy, very amiable. We chatted for several minutes and even posed together for a photograph.

As we parted, I felt a renewed sense of optimism. The world was okay after all. So, you ask, if Elvis were really in Vegas, wouldn't there be a swarm of anxious news reporters hounding him at every turn and revealing his existence to the world? Well, maybe and maybe not. You see, that's the absolute genius of his staying in Vegas. Because as you know, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!"

By the way, I have been hearing nasty rumors of late that Santa Claus isn't real. Now just let me put those rumors to rest as well. I vividly recall sitting on Santa's knee when I was very young. See, I have that photo too.

I have to admit that I too was skeptical of these reports. I chalked them up to "just wishful thinking." Wouldn't we all love to have Elvis back again?

During my most recent trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, a friend and I popped into Emeril Lagasse's restaurant in the MGM Grand Hotel. Talk about fantastic. Let me just say that you will have no problem finding one great dish at Emeril's. Our hunger satisfied and feeling re-energized, we left the hotel for a stroll.
